Webcam

We have updated our webcam link, which should make it easier to connect.  Click here.

Limited Transfer - Reversal--top

Last month we mentioned the proposed licensing changes by Microsoft, where a product could be installed and then moved to a new machine only one time.  Receiving enough complaints about that proposal, Microsoft apparently reversed their decision.  The article.

Airport Monitor--top

We stumbled across this site.  You can monitor air traffic around some airports.  These are Java driven pages, not webcams, but interesting nonetheless... Link

Hydrogen Fueling Stations --top

This technology is getting closer to reality, but we still have a long way to go.  There are currently about 20 operating Hydrogen fueling stations in this country with many more planned including Minneapolis and St. Cloud.  The article.

But if you think a Hydrogen car is economical, think again.  MSNBC has an interesting article (here) addressing the prices of both the cars and the fuel.

This fuel is certainly the future, but we cannot help thinking about cold days in Minnesota. The "exhaust" from a Hydrogen car is water...

Vista Security may be Trouble for Macs --top

As Microsoft improves security, would-be hackers may once again target the Mac operating system.  While Vista itself has greatly improved security features, applications run on the computer may still be vulnerable.  The article.

Email clients, word processing and other common applications may still offer hackers and viruses a way in to your computer.  Vista security is not perfect.

After all, Microsoft is offering (and recommending) their Antivirus application for Vista...

Naked Desktop --top

If you see no icons on your Desktop, you probably unchecked the Show Desktop Icons option.  To resolve the problem, right click the Desktop > Properties > Arrange Icons By then recheck the option.

Note: There may be situations where you do not want to have anything on the Desktop, e.g., doing presentations from a laptop.

Yahoo Updates Take Over--top

Yahoo's latest update may automatically, and without your knowledge, take over your home page and add a Toolbar.  Here is a short video clip on avoiding these problems.

We will leave you with this...

Bored at a shopping mall? Here are some things you can do to pass the time:

  • Grab some boxes of condoms and randomly throw them in other people's carts.

  • Set all the alarm clocks in the housewares department for a specific time.

  • Put a bag of M&M's on layaway.

  • Move the "wet floor" sign to a carpeted area.

  • When a clerk asks if they can help you, cry real loud: "Why can't you people just leave me alone..."

  • Look at the security camera while feverishly pointing toward another shopper.

  • While handling guns in sporting goods, ask the clerk where the antidepressants are.

  • Dart around the store while humming the "Mission Impossible" theme.

  • Hide in a clothing rack and when someone approaches, yell "Pick me! Pick me!"

  • Go into the fitting room and after a moment or two, yell "Where is the toilet paper..."
