Slow or stalled Printing

Plugged up spooler folder

First turn off the print spooler:

Control Panel > Admin Tools > Services.  In that list locate Print Spooler, right click and Stop

Now open the Windows (File) Explorer and navigate to:  C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS
Note: You may be asked for permission to open the folder, click Continue…

Delete everything found in that folder.

Restart the spooler in services.

Happens a lot?

You can create a batch file to kill all pending print jobs.  Copy/paste this to a new batch file:

net stop spooler

C:\Windows\System32\taskkill.exe /im printfilterpipelinesvc.exe /f

del /F /Q %systemroot%\System32\spool\PRINTERS\*

net start spooler

Or simply download this file, unzip to your Desktop and Run as Administrator.
